“Look through your eyelashes,” is a repeated piece of advice I live by while creating art. Through this technique, tonal qualities become more pronounced and interesting to me. Charcoal is the perfect medium to portray tones for exploring lights and darks, specifically in the human form. My greatest appreciation lies in the human figure mostly because of its universal individualism, exploring the differences in each.

Discovering all mediums has been part of my artistic process, and I have found comfort in using clay and metal to create three-dimensional art. Clay’s therapeutic quality and the process of manipulating metal have become things I desire in order to create engaging forms and complex illusions. Bringing together both dimensions is something I find very stimulating, while typically portraying artwork that is expressive to my figural aesthetics.
