Ashleigh Antle Art
About the Artist
Born in Cincinnati, I moved around quite a bit as a kid, and ended up in Indiana where I spent most of my childhood. I decided to attend art school at Ohio Wesleyan University where I was lucky enough to experience everyday as at artist, constantly creating art, and learning about history and techniques which formed me into who I've become today.

Yes, I love the human figure and faces. Something about how each person has the same external make-up, but everything is different in small ways. I like to capture those differences as well and detailed as possible.

I love contrast. I remember when I saw my first Caravaggio painting. The stark, black backgrounds with the light details of the emerging figures struck something in me that inspired me to try it. Charcoal became my medium of choice and since then I've learned how to finely tune my instrument and use an eraser just as often.

Stepping into the real world has changed my ritual, but I still try to make as much time available as possible to create new works.
